Hotel San Remo (a shortened Italian variation of the name Remus) is being officially transformed into the very first Hooter's Casino Hotel. The hotel was built in 1973 opening as a Howard Johnson Motel. After several ownership changes, it became the Hôtel San Rémo in 1989 and featured an Italian Riviera theme. On August 17, 2004 Hooters, Inc.; the new ownership remodeled and operate a Hooters brand casino and hotel on the site of the Hôtel San Rémo and become second largest Hooters restaurant in the world. On February 2, 2006 the Hooters Casino Hotel officially opened its doors with a large Orange carpet welcoming not only the public but a slew of stars including KISS lead singer Gene Simmons. Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino opened Dan Marino's Fine Food and Spirits restaurant on the same day the casino/hotel opened.
Fine Food and Spirits, a seafood and steak joint that seems too nice for its location. Bosworth, a real estate and financial adviser, helped Florida-based Hooters, which has a two-thirds ownership stake in the hotel, purchase the San Remo in August 2004. Bosworth, through his firm Nth Advisory Group, is developing a Hooters casino in West Wendover 400 miles northeast of Las Vegas along Interstate 80 with a third-party developer. Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa (a Stations property) opened April 19th. Phase One includes a 17-floor tower with 414 rooms & suites. And addition with 436 rooms is scheduled to open in early 2007. Red Rock is the fifteenth Station Casinos property in southern Nevada.

LuXor, Exacalibur, Mandalay Bay, Tropicana, New York-New York and Monte Carlo are all within reasonable walking distance, and the Vegas Monorail from MGM Grand will take you all the way down the strip if you need it to.
