The backyard pool party dates back to cavemen. But unfortunately, there weren’t any private cabanas or pool clubs to be found so they had to make do with whatever body of water they could find nearby – even if it meant contending with the occasional crocodile.
Thankfully, we have evolved. The backyard pool party is still very much a part of who we are today and can be had at the Red Rock Cabana Club the way it was intended to be: with 300 of your closest friends and plenty of cheap drinks.
Sure the Red Rock Resort is located well off the Strip, but that tends to translate to cheaper prices and less headaches for some. The Cabana Club has no cover, which will leave more money to go toward drinks or perhaps a cabana or daybed. Daybeds start off with a $100 food and beverage minimum and the cabanas, which rival most of the ones seen on the Strip, start at $400.
The Cabana Club is also no stranger to an occasional celebrity spotting thanks to its relationship with the UFC. The Red Rock is owned by the Ferttita family, who also own part of the extremely popular MMA company. So don’t be surprised if you see Forrest Griffin there playing lifeguard for a day.
The scene is a far cry from what Station Casinos director of nightlife Chad Pallas is used to. Pallas was part of the team that got Rehab at Hard Rock Hotel going, but has since changed his partying tune to a more subdued level. So a little warning, if you’re looking for a wild party, the Cabana Club isn’t it.
That doesn’t mean, though, that you can’t hear beats from the same DJs that spin at the mega-clubs. You’ll find DJs like Dig Dug who also spins at Tao or local vets Mika Gold and Quira. And considering you don’t even have to clean up the mess afterward, the backyard never seemed so inviting.
