Foothills Montessori School

Location
Foothills Montessori School is Nevada State Bureau Of Services For Child Care Licensed (Lic. #562) Child Care Facilities.
Foothills Montessori School was founded on four pillars: academic excellence, universal values, global understanding, and service. Beginning in 1999 with just eighteen students, we have blossomed into a tightly knit community of approximately 320 students and 43 faculty members. We are proud of our picturesque and inviting campus, and would love for you to come take a tour to observe the peaceful and productive classrooms. We are situated at the foothills of Black Mountain, near MacDonald Ranch, where Stephanie Road intersects with Amador Lane. We enjoy a stunning view of the city and are located in a very family-oriented, safe, and beautiful community.
At Foothills Montessori School, we believe in nurturing the whole child. With a very low student to teacher ratio (10:1), every child is treated with the utmost respect and is given ample attention to ensure that they feel valued and secure. The Montessori philosophy permeates our classroom environment and teaching style. Every classroom is an integrated society of children one to three years apart in age, allowing them to stay in the same classroom with the same teachers and fellow students for three consecutive years. This is highly beneficial to them for several reasons: they become established in a familiar setting where disruptive changes are minimal, they are mentored by older students and then compassionately and confidently guide those younger, they become accustomed to a social structure where individuals interact with multiple age groups, and they are allowed to progress at their own pace without peer competition and adult pressure that can inhibit their drive to learn. Our primary program is designed for three to six year olds, with the final year being kindergarten. They officially graduate from kindergarten into the lower elementary program, designed for six to nine year olds. Our middle school students are ages ten to fourteen.
