We welcome you to be a part of the ministries of Faith Community Lutheran Church and Schools. Our desire is to work with people who are willing to walk with us in oneness of spirit and purpose. For the sake of our children, it is important to understand that whenever values and beliefs in the home conflict with the Church, Academy, and Preschool, children suffer as a result. By stating our core teachings, our aim is to clarify our beliefs so we can more effectively work together for the sake of the Kingdom.

In May of 1998, a call is issued to seminarian Ken Lieber to serve as Mission Developer for Circuit 28. The name Faith Community Lutheran Church, an LCMS Fellowship, is chosen for the mission church. It says this little group of Christians wants to be an active part of the community in which they live and worship.

After much prayer, the people of Faith Community Lutheran Church decide to move from the library to a site in Summerlin, the fastest growing development in Las Vegas. A relationship with Faith Lutheran High School is started.

On December 6, 1998, Faith Community Lutheran Church was chartered as a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, with 62 charter members. It soon becomes apparent to all that this little mission church is ready to grow and will need more than part-time help. Pastor Ken Lieber is called as pastor to Faith Community in February 1999.

Under the leadership of then President Jim Van Tatenhove and with the help of the Lutheran Church Extension Fund, five acres of land is purchased at the corner of Town Center and Desert Primrose in May of 2000. Faith Community develops a vision to reach the people of Summerlin with the Gospel message of salvation found in Jesus Christ. To accomplish this, Faith decides to launch their church site with a Child Development Center that is child-focused and Christ-centered.

In October of 2000, planning begins on developing the site. SR Construction, along with George Architect, is selected from more than 20 design/ builders to partner with Faith Community in realizing its vision. In the summer of 2001, a member of Faith Community commits a $1,000,000 gift towards the building of a new sanctuary, along with the Family Life Center, the Child Development Center and the Education Wing.

Sunday, October 7, 2001, the people of Faith Community meet at the future church site to dedicate the site. It is the official "Ground Breaking" On December 15, 2001, construction of Faith Community's Campus in Summerlin begins.
