Don't be fooled by Death Valley's facade, for her beauty is not at all lifeless.
Death Valley The name implies desolation and lifelessness. Dun-colored badlands rise like ghosts from the valley floor; plants and animals seem altogether absent. Native Americans have called this place home for at least 10,000 years. Great blue herons circle above spring-fed pools filled with tiny fish that sparkle like silver dollars.
Scotty's Castle Prospector "Death Valley Scotty" claimed that this elaborate Spanish-style mansion was built by gold from his fictitious mine. In reality it was the 1920's vacation home of his wealthy friends.
Ubehebe Crater More than 3000 years ago the desert silence was shattered by a massive volcanic explosion caused by the violent release of underground steam pressure. When the cinders and dust settled, this 600 feet deep crater remained.
Dante's View The most breathtaking viewpoint in the Death Valley National Park, this mountain-top overlooks more than 5000 feet above the inferno of Death Valley.
Zabriskie Point Surrounded by a maze of wildly eroded and vibrantly colored badlands, this spectacular view is one of the park's most famous.
Zabriskie Point is a popular sunrise and sunset viewing location.
Begin your morning with breakfast served on board as you travel through the magnificent Mojave Desert and towards Zabriskie Point, referred to as "the badlands" where you can marvel at the 5 million year old lake bed and the spectacular view of the mountains across the valley. Prepare to be dazzled by Scotty's Castle, after a 60 minute guided tour, you will have 30 minutes to explore the Castle area on your own and enjoy a complimentary picnic lunch served on the grounds of Scotty's Castle. After lunch you'll head down to Ubehebe Crater, the Crater is nearly 1/2 mile across and about 800 feet deep. Then to Furnace Creek Ranch Visitor Center, where you can purchase souvenirs and view the Death Valley museum. Your tour is complete with a stop at Badwater the lowest point below sea level in the western hemisphere.
