Chiro means by hand and praktic means to adjust. The history of chiropractic, as it is known in the United States, dates back to 1895 in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. D. D. Palmer, who was formerly a magnetic healer, developed the art, science and philosophy of chiropractic.
When the spine gets out of place or misaligned due to trauma or just everyday use and abuse, it causes stress or pressure on nerves and decreases the flow of nervous energy to muscle glands, organs and blood vessels. This interruption in the nervous energy can cause pain, muscle spasms, numbness and tingling, headaches and even disease and pathology.
Chiropractic care is a natural non invasive approach to health and well-being. Dr. Tinberg always does a thorough patient history and an exam. She will probably take x-rays of the affected area. It is also important to make a list of any and all the medications that you are taking.

Dr. Tinberg practices a variety of chiropractic techniques included in the “palmer package” such as Diversified, Cox Flexion-Distraction, Thompson technique, Activator and Nimo Trigger Point Therapy.
